Beartooth Outfitters : Montana Hunting Guides
Bugling Season Elk Hunts in Wyoming and Montana

Our Early Bugling Season Hunts are in Montana Hunt Area 316 and Wyoming Hunt Area 50.

These 7-day, 1 guide - 2 hunters, horseback pack-in hunts for elk and deer are in the million acre Absaroka-Beartooth Wilderness area. With the elk in the rut, this area offers a good chance for a trophy bull elk.

It's about a 2 1/2 hour horseback ride to our base camp, which is located by Copeland Lake. You're welcome to do some trout fishing if you'd like. Base camp consists of three large hunter sleep tents equipped with army cots, wood-burning stoves, Coleman lanterns and a drying rack for wet clothes / a large cook tent / shower tent / a large tack tent / horse corral / and game pole. This area is high elevation and rugged. I recommend that you be in as good physical and mental condition as possible. Your chances for a successful hunt are greatly dependent upon physical condition, your shooting ability and the weather.
